About the Role

The role of the Category Leadership Manager is to turn insights into action and to positively impact category and Upfield growth. We are hiring a Category Leadership Manager to support the Eastern US Grocery business. This position is a critical link between our headquarter marketing and insights teams and the sales team you will support. You will support and engage with our direct customer (Kroger, Publix, Ahold Delhaize, Wakefern), and work with sale agency partners to support regional grocery customers in the East.

The core responsibility of the role is turning data and insights into selling stories.

Collaborating with others both internally and externally, while prioritizing a busy agenda are keys to success.

This position reports to the Vice President of Grocery Sales.

The candidate must be strong analytically and must also possess the ability to build great relationships. You are a storyteller with a growth mindset.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and develop all available resources (insights and data) to build winning sales stories for

  • Key Focus: Influence item assortment and placement decisions

  • Manage and prioritize customer category review events to ensure nothing is missed.

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and develop solutions to drive growth.

  • Manage, develop and maximize impact of sales agency partners in category management space.

  • Work with internal teams to translate national strategies and insights into specific customer stories.

  • Collaborate and contribute to national strategies and stories with customer insights and knowledge.

  • Build value-enhancing relationships with key customers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • CPG Category Management experience required with Kroger, Publix, Ahold Delhaize, Wakefern

  • Strong experience with syndicated data and customer data required.

  • Strong Analytical skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize key deliverables.

  • Strong experience in story building and storytelling.

  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.

  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Ability to travel - customer visits and team meetings.
