The primary responsibility of the Category Leadership Analyst is to enable Kraft Heinz and the customer to grow category sales to provide objective category expertise and deliver the best possible product assortment, pricing, merchandising and shelving recommendations. This position develops solutions and activates Department/Category roadmaps at retail to drive the development and integration of consumer, shopper and retailer strategies.
The Category Leadership Analyst leverages category, customer and market knowledge to localize the department/category standards to maximize category and Kraft Heinz sales. He/she gains customer alignment by developing and delivering insights-based category selling stories and maintains an on-going dialogue with the customer regarding results and recommended strategies.
Leading Customer Category Activation
Understanding Category Roadmap
Provides input into customer category strategies and plan
Develops assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelving recommendations aligned to customer and Kraft Heinz strategies and plans
Collaborates with retailer and Kraft sales to deliver activation calendar
Identifies issues, opportunities, and recommended strategic actions by conducting 4P market analyses of category for retailer and account team
Develops recommendations based on consumer, supplier, marketplace and retailer assessments
Conducts annual category reviews and periodic assessments
Manages the planogram development and assessment of shelf performance against objectives /strategies
Act as category, shopper and market expert to the Kraft sales team
Develops and utilizes category & shopper insights as the basis to drive Retailer and Kraft Category sales
Analyzes various types of data, including retailer, syndicated, panel, loyalty card data, to identify business issues & opportunities and relates them potential solutions for the category and Kraft Heinz
Supports new item plans and retail activation
Activates Category Roadmap with Sales team at the customer-level
Develops sales presentations for the sales team utilizing a category perspective
Collaborates with account management and shopper marketing team to deliver Roadmap activation
Provides Sales Team with analytical and technical support to develop insights into issues and opportunities
Acts as the expert on Space Management software
Finalizes common planogram based on agreed upon project objectives and BU Standards
Develops and maintains alternate versions of common planogram
Revises planograms with optimal assortment to include new and discontinued items
Identifies key metrics and methodology to conduct assortment analysis by category and brand
Targets items for deletion, addition, and retention based upon duplication/variety criteria
Develops the most effective product assortment based on agreed upon parameters
Confirms that assortment fits in planogram

Engage in the process of communication to 3rd party in regards to implementation
Conducts Annual Planning and Reporting

Bachelor's degree required
2 years experience as a Category Leadership or Sales Analyst, Shelf & Assortment Manager or other related job
