Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Category Leadership Analyst is to enable Kraft Heinz and the customer to grow category sales to provide objective category expertise and deliver the best possible product assortment, pricing, merchandising and shelving recommendations. This position develops solutions and activates Department/Category roadmaps at retail to drive the development and integration of consumer, shopper and retailer strategies.

The Category Leadership Analyst leverages category, customer and market knowledge to localize the department/category standards to maximize category and Kraft Heinz sales. He/she gains customer alignment by developing and delivering insights-based category selling stories and maintains an on-going dialogue with the customer regarding results and recommended strategies.

Leading Customer Category Activation

  • Understanding Category Roadmap

  • Provides input into customer category strategies and plan

  • Develops assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelving recommendations aligned to customer and Kraft Heinz strategies and plans

  • Collaborates with retailer and Kraft sales to deliver activation calendar

  • Identifies issues, opportunities, and recommended strategic actions by conducting 4P market analyses of category for retailer and account team

  • Develops recommendations based on consumer, supplier, marketplace and retailer assessments

  • Conducts annual category reviews and periodic assessments

  • Manages the planogram development and assessment of shelf performance against objectives /strategies

Business Activations

  • Act as category, shopper and market expert to the Kraft sales team

  • Develops and utilizes category & shopper insights as the basis to drive Retailer and Kraft Category sales

  • Analyzes various types of data, including retailer, syndicated, panel, loyalty card data, to identify business issues & opportunities and relates them potential solutions for the category and Kraft Heinz

  • Supports new item plans and retail activation

  • Activates Category Roadmap with Sales team at the customer-level

  • Develops sales presentations for the sales team utilizing a category perspective

  • Collaborates with account management and shopper marketing team to deliver Roadmap activation

  • Provides Sales Team with analytical and technical support to develop insights into issues and opportunities

Planogram Updating

  • Acts as the expert on Space Management software

  • Finalizes common planogram based on agreed upon project objectives and BU Standards

  • Develops and maintains alternate versions of common planogram

  • Revises planograms with optimal assortment to include new and discontinued items


Product Assortment

  • Identifies key metrics and methodology to conduct assortment analysis by category and brand

  • Targets items for deletion, addition, and retention based upon duplication/variety criteria

  • Develops the most effective product assortment based on agreed upon parameters

  • Confirms that assortment fits in planogram

Other Job Related Activities

  • Responds to Sales team requests

  • Maintains data and product images

  • Engages customer on shelving strategies, planogram alignment and implementation details

  • Engage in the process of communication to 3rd party in regards to implementation

  • Conducts Annual Planning and Reporting

  • Develops Monthly Reports

  • Provides appropriate skill training development to improve the capability of the team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 2 years experience as a Category Leadership or Sales Analyst, Shelf & Assortment Manager or other related job

Job Description Category Advisor The Category Advisor is an information expert skilled in the use of a broad set of analytical tools. The Category Advisor can distill insights from a variety of data sources to develop business plans that drive category and Kraft Heinz volume. The Category Advisor manages all activities relating to optimizing assortment and space management for assigned categories and customers. The Category Advisor is the unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories, customers' shoppers, insight development, efficient assortment and optimal shelf placement. The Category Advisor identifies opportunities and addresses both Kraft's and the customer's needs through the integration of research (primary and secondary), analysis, insights, reporting and presentation. The Category Advisor is an expert in syndicated tools including scanner, HH panel, Spectra and other resources. The Category Advisor can apply and integrate buying dynamics such as purchase frequency, buy rate, buyer conversion and category leakage to consumer and shopper research to develop business-building recommendations. The Category Advisor can conduct assortment analysis and SKU optimization using syndicated tools and can create best-in-class planograms utilizing space management software. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories, category drivers, customers and customer's shoppers Expert in the analysis of syndicated data (scanner, HH panel, Spectra, etc.) leading to key insights and business recommendations on distribution, assortment, pricing, and promotion. Conducts assortment assessments and creates planograms for assigned categories and customers Develops and integrates consumer, shopper and retailer insights to better inform targeted strategies, plans and decisions Leverage insight resources to prioritize consumer and shopper needs and opportunities Integrates data from a variety of sources to develop impactful customer-specific selling stories in support of key category business building initiatives. Liaison to internal/external supply chain in regards to efficient assortment Leads broader space initiatives across aisle and store Understands and applies best-practice category management process Implements Kraft Heinz Foods shelving principles and standards Partners with Customer Business Leads in the development of insight-based new item presentations Applies the full suite of tools against business issues. Conducts training of customer teams to broaden their understanding of sales information and tools available for business tracking and analysis.
