Minimum 4-5+ years experience in Cassandra Big Data technologies / Mongo DB & 8 or more years of experience with Oracle database systems.
2-4 years experience with relevant scripting languages or programming frameworks desired (Perl, Unix Shell, Ruby).
Experience of Database on Cloud (AWS/Google/Azure any one of them) is required.
Expertise in relational database administration including configuration, implementation, data modeling, maintenance, redundancy/HA, security, troubleshooting/performance tuning, upgrades, database, data and server migrations, RAC, Grid Control.
Design / Architected and implemented complex projects dealing with the considerable data size (GB/ PB) and with high complexity.
Sound knowledge about the clustered deployment Architecture.
Handle Cassandra administration, operations, and architecture for a multi data center environment including Production and Test networks
Champion all Cassandra environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, upgrades, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring.
Design and development of Cassandra debugging and monitoring tools and solutions to support and streamline everyday operations of the Portal DevOps team by creating key performance metrics, measuring the utilization and overall health of the cluster.
Fluency in automation and systems programming to solve complex operational problems associated with running large scale, multi-tenant, production and lab environments
Manage backup and recovery functions.
Proactively monitor and setup alerting mechanism for both database and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability
Starting, stopping and restarting of opscenter monitoring tool, Casandra cluster and server.
Maintaining maximum uptime for Cassandra nodes and cluster.
Taking Backup of data and restoration of backup as needed using opscenter and nodetool.
Check cqlsh, Cassandra-cli client connectivity on each server/node restart.
Start Cassandra server in different modes such as Analytics, search or normal.
Monitor Cassandra system logs, opscenter, opscenter-agent logs for errors.
