IMPORTANT POSITION INFORMATION

There is a possibility that this position may be renewed on an annual basis depending on the organization needs, funding and employee performance, in accordance with the City temporary worker's policy.

CASHIER

Starting Hourly Rate: $9.25

Nature of Work: Collects money for general admissions and at some facilities, will work in the food service operation as well as the admissions operations.

In both operations, will be responsible for the handling of all monies received and the operation of a cash register. May also be responsible for answering the facility telephone and disseminating public information. Concession operation personnel will be directly responsible for the cleanliness of the concession area and equipment.

May be assigned on a regular, or occasional basis as a locker room or control person in addition to the duties as cashier. May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Basic knowledge in the principles of facility activities. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in fast food service and/or running a cash register.

Work Schedule: The work will be established by the facility supervisor or his/her designate.

Because of the nature of recreational facility operation, weekend an evening hours are a necessary part of work scheduling. Scheduling systems may differ from one facility to another because of differences in programming, facility size or type, and other factors. There are usually some periods during the summer that the hours per week may be lower than the average due to inclement weather conditions.

ASSISTANT FACILITY SUPERVISOR II Starting Hourly Rate: $16.13 Nature of Work: Assists the facility supervisor in the administration, management, and operation of recreation facilities. Directly responsible for the overall operation of the facility in the facility supervisor's absence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, making cash-outs, handling deposits, inventory control, answering citizen complaints, supervision of employees, and implementations of policies and procedures. In addition, the position directs and is responsible for major facility programs. This position shares the responsibility of the physical facility with the facility supervisor. This position handles work that extends beyond the scope of the actual facility such as work with vendors, budget oversight, billing, and project administration. May exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required Qualifications: Past experience in recreation facility management. Past supervisory experience. Experience with cash handling, staff management, and policy and procedure implementation. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment.
