IMPORTANT POSITION INFORMATION
There is a possibility that this position may be renewed on an annual basis depending on the organization needs, funding and employee performance, in accordance with the City temporary worker's policy.
Starting Hourly Rate: $9.25
Nature of Work: Collects money for general admissions and at some facilities, will work in the food service operation as well as the admissions operations.
In both operations, will be responsible for the handling of all monies received and the operation of a cash register. May also be responsible for answering the facility telephone and disseminating public information. Concession operation personnel will be directly responsible for the cleanliness of the concession area and equipment.
May be assigned on a regular, or occasional basis as a locker room or control person in addition to the duties as cashier. May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Basic knowledge in the principles of facility activities. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Experience in fast food service and/or running a cash register.
Work Schedule: The work will be established by the facility supervisor or his/her designate.
Because of the nature of recreational facility operation, weekend an evening hours are a necessary part of work scheduling. Scheduling systems may differ from one facility to another because of differences in programming, facility size or type, and other factors. There are usually some periods during the summer that the hours per week may be lower than the average due to inclement weather conditions.
