La Cocina Shafter is The Wonderful Company's brand-new café located within the Wonderful Industrial Park, catering to the culinary needs of the company's employees as well as neighboring tenants in the area. Our mission is to provide fresh, seasonal, and healthy Latin inspired cuisine from California's rich cultural history. We are committed to providing delicious food, efficient service, and a welcoming atmosphere to enhance the daily experience.
Are you a coffee lover? We are in search of a customer-focused, motivated, and organized Cashier / Barista. This person is responsible for ensuring great customer service and loves producing high-quality drinks.
The work schedule for this position is Monday
Job Description
Ensures that all food and beverage services meet the restaurant's standards
Prepares daily specialty drinks while working in a safe and organized manner
Follows proper food handling techniques and physical safety rules
Maintains espresso and brewing equipment to ensure proper function and identify any repair or maintenance
Operates registers and educates customers about daily menu items and answers any questions
Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Assists with keeping Barista and storage areas organized, clean and sanitized
Assist in tasks as requested by the Chef or Food Service Manager needed to successfully run the Cocina
Qualifications
GED or high school diploma required
Food Safety, Food handlers training and or certification; awareness of local, state, federal health and sanitation laws
Food and beverage knowledge and basic coffee techniques
Understanding proper use and maintenance of Barista equipment, including Grinders, Brewers, refrigeration, knives, and Espresso machines
Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment
A commitment to quality service and strong organization skills
Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers
Can effectively solve problems and able to take direction
Conversational Spanish is desired but not required
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
