The Denver Sheriff Department is looking for a Cashier to join our team at the Vehicle Impound Facility.
The Cashiers at the Vehicle Impound Facility are the first line of contact with citizens who come to claim a vehicle or collect property that has been impounded by either the Denver Police Department or the Denver Sheriff Department. Customer service skills are paramount for this position, as well as good cashiering skills with regards to monetary, check and credit cards transactions. The ability to remain calm, courteous and professional, at all times is an essential skill.
This position is located at the Vehicle Impound Facility located at 5160 York St, Denver, CO 80216.
The Vehicle Impound Facility is open 7 days a week. As such, this position does require flexibility in scheduling. Working until the evenings during the weekday and 7:45am until 3:45pm on the weekend may be required.
Successful candidates must complete and pass a background investigation that encompasses the applicant's employment and criminal history, this includes mandatory drug testing.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Verification of a variety of document
Data entry, cash and credit payment transactions
Daily reconciliation, maintenance of record files, customer service, and examining and evaluating documents and information.
Providing the public with information in person and via telephone.
Operating a variety of office equipment.
This position may require additional duties at times

Basic computer skills and basic typing skills
Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
