Perform cashiering duties for the EVCC Cashiers Office. Includes greeting students, verifying, consolidating and balancing cash receipts. Provide excellent customer service to students, and staff in a fast-paced environment. Maintain and prepare daily bank reports and deposits. Follow established procedures and remain compliant with college and state policies.
Provide excellent customer service to students and staff via email, phone, and in-person on campus
Work independently and as a team, attending team meetings and trainings
Cross train with other cashiers
Calculate fees and review student accounts
Receive payments by cash, check, and or credit card
Transfer funds
Make change
Issue receipts
Maintain record of funds received, distributed, or transferred
Assist with collections process
Keep student's personal information confidential per Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) per training and guidance that will be provided to you.
Balance records and till daily
Receive deposits from other departments
Maintain records of internal cash flow
Process incoming mail, filing, sorting and alphabetizing
Refer students to other departments as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent
Computer experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications
One or more years of experience in cashiering or a closely related fiscally responsible job such as retail sales clerk or bank teller, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent communication and phone skills
Ability to communicate and work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and with diverse physical and learning disabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and financial management programs such as HP Unix and/or PeopleSoft
Two or more years of experience in cashiering or fiscal work
Receptionist or customer service experience
Experience working in higher education

Work Hours:
Part time, maximum 69 hours per month. Hours may vary depending on department needs and may include some early evening hours.

This position requires working in person, on campus.
If your hours total more than 350 hours in any 12-month period, your position will be represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees Union.
Position is limited to 1 year or 1,050 hours, whichever comes first. Per State of Washington rules, you may reach these limits only once at EvCC. If you have held another part time hourly position at EvCC since July 1, 2022, additional time and hours limits will apply, so you may not be eligible for hire in this position.

Benefits
Paid sick leave accrues at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
