This position will be assigned to primarily to the Lawrenceville campus and occasional Alpharetta – North Fulton Campus. Schedule: Must be available to work anywhere between the hours of 7:30 to 6:30, Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays. Must be flexible and willing to adjust his/her work hours as needed and be willing to travel between both campuses. Salary: Targeted salary is commensurate with education and experience not to exceed the budgeted amount of $28,000.00 per year. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent *and* one (1) year work-related experience. Working knowledge of Excel. Job Description Summary: Under general supervision, the Cashier is primarily responsible for assisting students with payments, accepting these payments and balancing the receipts to the system. Also assists the business office staff with daily workload and special projects as identified and assigned. Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards: Customer Service Responsibilities * Greet all customers as they approach the cashier desk with a smile and friendly manner. * Convey customer-focused behavior by making eye contact with all customers. * Assist students, faculty, staff and others by informing and directly all who seek assistance in an accommodating manner. * Answer the general Business Office telephone and cheerfully provide help that is needed. * Promptly return all messages left on the general voice mailbox. * Ability to handle difficult situations with composure and tact, thinking through each problem. Daily Cashiering Responsibilities: * Process cash, check and credit card transactions from students and other customers. * Process cash transactions related to the college's departments and their activities. * Balance all receipts to the system at the end of each day. * Prepare all cashier sessions in the system at the beginning of each day. * Open the One Stop customer service area each morning. General Duties * Perform various data processing, as needed. * Fax or email information to faculty, staff and students. * Assist other Business Office personnel as time and workload permits. * Other duties as assigned by Director of Student Accounts. * Assists business office staff with daily duties as assigned. * Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. * Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work. * Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events. * Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures. * Accepts direction and feedback from supervisors and follows through appropriately. * Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected; calls in according to policy when arriving late for work or when absent; observes provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act; observes policies on break and lunch periods; uses work time appropriately. * Other duties as assigned by Director of Student Accounts.
