Our dynamic Food & Beverage department, the largest department in our organization, strives to create a pleasurable dining experience for all guests and prides itself on exceptional food quality and outstanding customer service.

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the cashier is responsible for taking customer food orders, collecting payments and making change for customers and employees. The Cashier is also responsible for balancing opening and closing banks at the beginning and end of each shift.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive and count down opening banks for accuracy and proper break down of change.

  • Make sure equipment is in proper working order.

  • Make sure all customers or employees pay for all food received.

  • Count down bank in drawer at the end of the session, assist in the clean-up of kitchen at the end of the session.

  • Make sure that register area is kept clean and safe at all times.

  • Keep kitchen area clean and items stocked.

  • Food Court: Selects requested food items from the serving or storage area and assembles items on trays for the customer.

  • Responsible to notify immediate supervisor of any problems and or concerns.

  • Responsible for cleanliness, organization & preparedness of immediate workspace & adjacent areas.

  • Any additional job-related duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.

  • Must have good basic mathematical, organizational and communication skills.

  • Clean and proper work attire in accordance with company policy.

  • Must be reliable, pleasant and possess a good attitude.

  • Must be able to provide good service to sometimes-difficult situations.

  • Ability to cope in potentially stressful situations.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card.

The Lead Cashier is responsible for the functional supervision of a team of cashiers providing training, monitoring, and assistance with operational issues. This position is primarily mobile, proactively visiting registers, providing direction and support to team members and ensuring excellent customer service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Oversees all cash register transactions, processing of customer purchases, and overrides pursuant to San Manuel Food & Beverage standards. * Reviews and audits cash register transactions to verify the proper documentation of comps, voids and discounts. * Oversees the assignment of team member sections; ensures that all sections are being covered and team members abide by break schedule. * Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of facility and confirms that all appropriate side work duties are being performed. * Conducts daily shift meetings in the absence of the Supervisor. * Provides training for new and existing employees on San Manuel departmental policies and procedures. * Communicates any problems or concerns regarding employees or guests to the immediate Supervisor. * Cleans, organizes and prepares immediate workspace and adjacent areas before, during and after the shift. * Enforces all safety, health, security rules and ensures exceptional customer service standards are being consistently being met. * Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Supervisory Responsibilities The Lead Cashier is responsible for functional supervision of the Cashier in the day-to-day operations. The Lead Cashier may also be responsible for the functional supervision of the Host/Hostess, Servers, or Bussers in their day-to- day operations. Education/Experience/Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED required * Two (2) or more years recent cashiering experience; some leadership training helpful * Demonstrative leadership skills and the ability to lead by example required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations * At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. * Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Card. * Will be required to obtain and maintain T.I.P.S Certification.
