POSITION PURPOSE

The Cash Accounting and Control (CAC) Specialist performs, supports, and ensures accurate and timely cash account reconciliations in accordance with company policy and procedure and GAAP. This position will have performed company bank reconciliations for at least one year, or have commensurate experience. The CAC Specialist supports the department to ensure process control and compliance, delivers high-level customer service, and responds timely to field and Home Office inquiries. The CAC Specialist will assist teammates and management in building creative solutions to data and timing issues to meet deadlines for completing reconciliations and resolving reconciling items.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under immediate supervision, performs monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations.

• Assists with gathering information necessary to perform reconciliations.

• Complies with Company policies/ procedures and GAAP.

• Works closely with teammates to recognize and report operational issues.

• Escalates issues to the Cash Accounting and Control Supervisor and Director.

• This position must sit at our Home Office, located in Birmingham, AL

Qualifications

License or Certification:

• Licenses and Certifications are not required for this position, but are highly desirable

Minimum Qualifications:

• Accounting Degree preferred, but not required

• 1-2 years of experience in Accounting; bookkeeping, and/or banking experience is required, preferably with cash reconciliation

• Strong Excel, Microsoft Word, Access, and other computer skills are required.

• General Ledger accounting (PeopleSoft) experience preferred
