LSI currently seeks an occasional Caseworker for our diversion program in Calhoun, Pocahontas, and Webster counties.
Responsible for providing assistance to youth clients (specifically at-risk youth) in a community-based group setting. Goals of the program include, but are not limited to, increasing school attendance and performance, preventing school suspension, crisis intervention, skill development, and advocacy to prevent further juvenile court system and DHS involvement.
Meets with clients in a group setting to address issues related to anger management, moral development, responsible thinking, decision making, peer pressure and problem solving. Position will provide a supervised learning experience, skill development, and supervised accountability for the participants. Position requires strong documentation skills.
Meetings with clients will occur in a community setting. Work will occur during normal business hours, after hours, or on weekends.
Ability to travel to meet with clients is required. Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and vehicle insurance that meets agency requirements. We are currently seeking someone to work in this position 6-8 hours/month.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's in social work or related human service field and one year of related experience. Acceptable degrees include: psychology, sociology, human services/development, and child development.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
