Casework Management Specialists within the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Child & Family Services, provide case management services for children and their families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar setting.
Incumbents perform the full range of duties as described in the series concept.
This will be full-time position located in Elko, Nevada.
Incumbents receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept.
DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families and community contacts to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs.
The incumbent provides ongoing case management services by developing and implementing plans of care; including home visits; monitoring services; report preparation and record keeping; and providing technical information and educational services.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Nevada Early Intervention Services in Elko, NV. The incumbent will be responsible for providing the children (birth to 3 years of age) on their caseload all required service coordination activities, individualized specialized instruction and required documentation as outlined in the children's Individualized Family Services Plan in compliance with the Federal Part C-IDEA law. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Incumbents must possess or obtain an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education issued by the Nevada Department of Education or a comparable certification issued by the Nevada Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C office within three years of appointment to this series or a comparable certification. (This license requirement applies only to those positions directly involved with children from birth to eight years of age with developmental delays.) This position may be required to travel at least 50 percent of the time. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
