Samaritan's Purse mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States. Isaiah 25:4 says, "For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.

The Case Workers handle all aspects of beneficiary selection, including needs assessment and requests for assistance from individuals. Work closely with Case Manager of North American Ministries (NAM), homeowners, church partners, governmental and other non-governmental agencies. Requires strong investigative, analytical, organization and relationship-building skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1.Investigate requests to identify best-matched candidates based on need, eligibility and other program criteria. Interview applicants and gather pertinent background information including financial history. Facilitate background checks and drug screening, if required.
2.Attend local recovery meetings to identify potential needs and applicants who may meet our criteria.
3.Recommends potential recipients for consideration to Case Manager of NAM.
4.Direct those homeowners who do not meet our beneficiary criteria to other agencies or organizations in the area that can help.
5.Work with homeowner to procure and use FEMA and insurance money for the construction of their home. Enforce requirements to use that money for its intended purpose.
6.Maintain proper documentation and tracking to ensure successful completion of each project. Keep detailed files of each homeowner's paperwork and track homeowners' work hours and enforce work hour requirements.
7.Communicate and minister to homeowners, keeping them informed of the team's progress and assisting in their requests.
8.Greet incoming volunteers in a rotational basis with the rest of the team.
9.As program progresses, initiate local church involvement in the lives of our beneficiaries, to ensure they are continually ministered to, even after Samaritan's Purse has left the area.
10. Document work and events with digital photographs and share them with NAM Social Media Specialist.
11. Follow up with recipients through project completion and minister to them throughout.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families. Efforts continue in Rockport, Texas. The Construction Supervisor-North American Ministries Disaster Relief will oversee and direct designated team or assignment to ensure adequate supplies and manpower are in place to accomplish assigned project. The employee will be a skilled builder and will be involved in directing both skilled and non-skilled volunteers in all levels of the construction project and should be knowledgeable in all aspects of construction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Work jointly with the Program Manager and the Volunteer and Logistics Coordinators to construct homes in the affected area. * Work with on-site volunteer teams, being present at all times; assist team members to educate and oversee their work and assure they understand their role and are fully equipped to work efficiently and help lead the construction teams. * Ensure quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard. * Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and assure all work is done with safe manner. * Maintain security of all materials and equipment at job sites. * Ensure quality and adherence of SP policies from hired subcontractors. * Start and end each day on the worksite in prayer with the volunteer team assigned to your site. * Inspect all jobs, ensuring all work is in accordance with federal, state and local laws and codes. * Communicate and minister to volunteers and partners, keeping them informed of the team's work and projected needs. * Review paperwork with the Volunteer and Logistics Coordinators and to the Program Manager. * Complete and submit reports for any injuries occurring at the job sites. * Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers. * Maintain strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and general public. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervise 6-20 volunteers on a daily basis. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems and assuring quality control of the construction project which they are assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND SKILLS: All construction courses and training and or on the job training will be reviewed, i.e. electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing and finish carpentry. A class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred. Ability to obtain a drivers medical card is required.
