  • Responsible for administration of case management policies, programs and practices, including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing case management activities. Duties include formulating policies and procedures for case management and recommending policies and practices to the Assistant Warden for Programs. Acts as Assistant Warden for Programs in his/her absence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists other department heads and members of the administrative staff relating to correctional programs issues.

  • Serves as expert to line staff in correctional programs policies and procedures.

  • Serves as resource when addressing inmate program issues.

  • Directly monitors case management staff to ensure proper and effective job performance.

  • Provides guidance and promotes an atmosphere conducive to personal and professional achievement, progress and advancement among classification staff.

  • Advises and assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to all phases of the custody, administration, classification and program status of inmates.

  • Develops, coordinates and implements training for case management personnel.

  • Reviews and evaluates case management department policies and procedures to ensure they are pertinent, applicable and effective and that they comply with GEO, institution, ACA and client agency requirements, guidelines and standards.

  • Serves as liaison with U.S. Probation, U.S. Parole Commission, Pretrial Services, and Federal courts.

  • Monitors the victim/witness notification, inmate financial responsibility, and inmate performance pay programs to ensure policy compliance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Contract requirements are 5 years of experience in case management required.

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related field.

  • Five (5) years of supervisory/management experience in case management or a field directly related to the specific duties of the position.

  • Knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures and duties specific to the position. Knowledge of related GEO and client agency guidelines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent supervisory skills.

Summary * This position is the chief administrator of the facility. Works cooperatively with the regional and local management to develop and attain the goals and objectives of the facility according to the policy direction of the company and within the scope defined by the client agency. Has budgetary responsibility for all facility expenses. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Plans and provides leadership for the administration, security and treatment programs of the facility. Makes long-range plans and schedules. Sets goals and establishes objectives to achieve such plans. * Develops and maintains close working relationships with the client departments and their representatives. * Approves, initiates, interprets and enforces policies and directives for efficient administration. Supplements policies with written guidelines and procedures. * Directs the activities of all facility functions, assigns duties and delegates authority to accomplish them. * Delegates the authority for the selection, development and termination of staff, including ongoing staff training, communications and discipline. * Ensures that adequate procedures, method, and techniques are established in all programs and operations. * Provides adequate facilities, space and equipment for inmates and staff. * Ensures the ability of the facility staff to respond appropriately to emergencies. * Provides proper safeguards and conducts regularly scheduled physical inspections for the health, safety and welfare of inmates and staff and the physical property of the facility. * Confers with the appropriate corporate or client officials on policy matters. * Monitors statutory requirements and legal decisions that affect administrative decisions or operations of the facility. * Analyzes proposals, financial statements, records, statistical reports, budget estimates and justifications for proposed expenditures. * Develops and maintains close working relationships with government and private agencies including local, state and federal law enforcement units, and the community. * Responds on a 24-hour, 7-day basis to significant unusual occurrences. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the effective and successful operation of the facility. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences or related field supplemented by courses in business administration and a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in a correctional or detention facility at the minimum level of associate Facility Administrator or Warden of a correctional facility or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required. * Exceptions may be made concerning supervisory experience if the candidate clearly demonstrates the ability to supervise the proper administration of a correction or detention facility of a substantial number of inmates. * Must possess a working knowledge of program objectives, policies, correctional laws, applicable court orders, procedures and requirements for managing a secure correction or detention facility. * Must have strong leadership ability, sound judgment, and effective administrative ability. Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of the objectives and principles of career development and advancement programs. Clearly demonstrates the ability to guide, direct and coordinate the efforts of others. * Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff, and philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility.
