The purpose of this position is to provide case management services to students in distress, coordinate the administration of student emergency services, and assist with developing a comprehensive prevention initiatives to address mental health and specific student issues.
Essential Job Duties
- Work directly with students to monitor student well-being, ensure continuity of care, determine student needs and level of care, develop realistic action plans, connect students with campus and/or community resources, and provide ongoing case management.
- Conduct intake interviews with students seeking UM Emergency Assistance Services (Food and Financial) and screening provide assistance to students with immediate, definable needs.
- Conduct Screenings/Needs Assessment appointments to determine the nature of their presenting issues and determine the appropriate level of care.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Falcon Food Pantry.
- Coordinate the development of a prevention and outreach plan that address specific mental health developmental needs of college students including but not limited to, UM's bystander intervention and suicide prevention trainings.
- Oversee CS outreach activities to promote available resources and services.
- Work with students to explore options related to the process of reporting incidences of sexual misconduct to Title IX Compliance Officers, Student Conduct Officer, University of Montevallo Police Department, and/or other authorities.
- Serve as a point of contact and provide consultation (within legal limits) to faculty, staff, parents, and students expressing concerns regarding members of the University community.
- Provide administrative support for the CARE Team and Threat Assessment Team.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate clinical and non-clinical documentation.
- Serve in the Emergency Duty and Mental Health Responder on-call rotation.
- Assist with Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs and University committees, events, and activities as needed and assigned.
- Serve on assigned Student Affairs and University committees.
- Assume other duties as the Senior Clinician for Acute and Crisis Services and the Executive Director may assign.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of case management techniques, ethical codes, and best practices.
- Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality in performing duties.
- Working knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, and applicable confidentiality laws.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
- Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations.
- Understanding of human development and college student development.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage large volumes of information with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
- Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and use department software platforms (i.e. Titanium Scheduler, Maxient).
- Ability to work as a contributing member of the CS team.
Education and Experience
The educational requirement for this position is: Master's degree in Counseling; Clinical Psychology or Social Work required.

This position requires: No experience required. 1 year of experience as a clinical case manager with at least some of that experience as a case manager in a higher education setting strongly preferred.
