Employee Health - Case Manager, Workers Comp RN
Hours: 7a-3:30p - no weekends, holidays
The staff nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for the total nursing care of the patients as identified by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act for acutely ill medical/surgical patients. Case manages workers' compensation claims.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of current trends in health care, workers compensation, governmental regulations, wellness & safety issues.
Follows up on blood & body exposures
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies ie. OSHA, IDPH, JCAHO.
Trends employee health accidents with problem solving solutions.
Oversight of post offer physicals & annual screenings.
Will run Employee Health reports.
Bachelor's Degree in nursing and current IL RN licensure required. COHN preferred. Prior Occupational Health experience a plus. Critical Care, E.R., or Immediate Care background preferred. Maintains current CPR certification.
Certified Case Manager (CCM ) PREFERRED
3-5 years workers comp experience
Should be a self-starter, able to handle frequent periods of high stress and volatile situations.
Must be flexible to scheduling changes including scheduled overtime.
Communicates clearly in English, both written and oral.
Knowledge of the Word, Excel, and EMR highly preferred.
