Total Care Services, Inc. has been serving residents of the District of Columbia since 2003. Our DC (District of Columbia) team services and adult support people with intellectual disabilities. The Qualified Individual Disability Professional (QIDP) is responsible for the coordination of home and community based Medicaid waiver professional services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The successful candidate ensures that individuals receive quality services, develops a plan of care, and ensures that their rights are protected. The QIDP also provides guidance and support to families and other professionals.

We are Searching for a Qualified Individual Disability Professional (QIDP)Who is:

  • Professional – this position requires professionalism and maturity as it has access to confidential information and person served finances.
  • Independent - Excellent planning, organizational, communications, writing, phone, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proactive – self motivated independent direct care professional with experience anticipating the needs of persons served.
  • Confidentiality – understands and complies with HIPAA laws.
  • Dedication – TCS’s level of excellence requires the commitment of our staff to our clients and the services provided.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Detail-Oriented – We pay close attention to and notice minor details.
  • Technologically savvy.

What You Do:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify service needs
  • Monitor and document the progress of person served in a electronic system, i.e. monthly & quarterly reports
  • Advocate for person served in various settings
  • Provide training and guidance to families in the care of person served
  • Ensure that all services are provided in a safe and secure environment
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services
  • Provide guidance and support to person served and families regarding services and resources
  • Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Current certification as a QIDP - Preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding services for individuals with disabilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work with a diverse population
  • Be able to read and write the English language
  • Must be a US citizen or alien who is lawfully authorized to work in the US; and
  • Annual certification by a physician that he/she is in good physical and mental condition, capable of doing physical household tasks or of directing the work of household assistants; Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Obtain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and renew the certification annually
  • Complete first aid training in addition and all other trainings required by MRDDA
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License
  • Must have own transportation

Work Environment: This hybrid position is work from your field work and corporate office.
