The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person-centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.

Today, the NCSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. The NCSB is seeking to hire a Case Manger IV in their Forensic Services division. The case manager will be working with defendants who have been ordered to participate in outpatient competency restoration educational services. The case manager also serves as the liaison to the local jails to provide discharge planning to link defendants to appropriate community-based treatment and resources.

Departmental Hiring Salary Range:  $50,624- $58,217  

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Provide out-patient restoration educational services for individuals who have been deemed incompetent.

  • Completes initial assessment to develop a restoration treatment plan.

  • Works closely with the courts, attorneys, and family members.

  • Consults with psychologist for outcome evaluation.

  • Send letters to the court, and attorneys once the restoration services have been completed.

  • Attends court twice a month.

  • Provides case management and related services for specific population.

  • Provides client linkage to services and resources.

  • Provides and maintains documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.

Bachelor's degree in a human services field.

Considerable experience in a human services field related to the area of assignment. Some assignments may also require specific experience working with various types of client populations; master's degree preferred in some areas.

Preferred experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system.

  • Valid Driver's License may be required depending on assignment.

  • QMHP-A is preferred.

  • Certification in basic first aid and CPR, depending on area of assignment.

  • Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus.
