Job Summary The Case Manager serves as a non-clinical (non-confidential) advocate and case manager for students at GGC.

The Case Manager addresses and responds to referrals of concern using good judgment and a high level of care and concern for students. This position reports to the Dean of Students. This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.

Responsibilities Manage a student support caseload of mild to elevated level concerns, providing individualized care, tailored intervention, and consistent follow-up to students, and referring parties; Provide timely and detailed case management reports to the Dean of Students Facilitate referrals to on and off campus services for students who face complex, hardship, and/or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., academics, death of loved one, financial, emotional distress, social adjustment, and other related concerns) that could affect their ability to be successful at GGC. Provides support to students navigating the hardship withdrawal process and other GGC processes related to enrollment. Consult collaboratively with GGC offices and personnel, community organizations, and family members to assist students who experience various concerns that impact their progress and success at GGC.

Create and sustain campaign efforts to educate faculty and staff on how to support students of concern, including how and when to make appropriate referrals. Deliver proactive messaging and educational outreach to promote student well-being, mental health awareness, academic resources, and academic best practices. Assist with data analysis to identify and assess evolving issues impacting student success and effectiveness of intervention models and resource delivery.

Meet with students regularly by appointment or drop in to discuss concerns or other student issues. Advise students through the navigation of college processes and procedures. Assist with the recruitment, planning, implementation, and assessment of the Student Integrity Board.

Assist with the updating and management of Dean of Students Office related websites. Provide training to campus community members regarding reporting student concerns and how the campus community can provide student support; Provide advocacy for students, with instructors as appropriate, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed. Supervise interns and graduate students; serve as a backup hearing officer and investigator in the Dean of Students Office; Serve on Dean of Students, Student Affairs, and college-wide committees and task forces.

Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, education, or related field Two or more years of work experience in a higher education setting (this may include graduate work) Preferred Qualifications Graduate Degree in Social Work, Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field of study Experience with student case management procedures at the college level Experience with, and understanding of, due process and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) related to student records Experience with, and understanding of, student development theory Mental Health First Aid or QPR Certifications Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of computer software and programs used to design advertisements and flyers Knowledge of the student conduct case management system (e.g. Maxient) Skills in verbal and written communications Skills in interpersonal communications Skills in listening and problem solving Skills in time management Skills in conflict resolution and mediation Skills in case management Ability to work with diverse groups of people Ability to build positive and effective relationships Ability to apply student development concepts when working with students and designing sanctions and programmatic efforts USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
