Job Description: The Family Partner is an integrated member of the Mental Health Team, bringing a parent/caregiver perspective into all aspects of the treatment. #This is accomplished both internally within the person#s primary agency and externally by representing the value of family participation and partnership in community venues.# The Family Partner works in a non-judgmental and respectful manner, closely with families whose young children are receiving early childhood mental health services, while assisting the family in accessing needed services, promoting independence and advocacy skills within the family.
Position Requirements: Minimum Education: #High School diploma with extensive personal experience may be considered in lieu of education. #Bachelor#s Degree preferred. Minimum Experience: #1-2 years of personal experience working with child and family serving social service systems or similar systems related to hiring program. #Parent/caregiver or family member of a child with behavioral health or developmental challenges who has previously or is presently utilizing services. #Experience in navigating at least two child serving systems preferably in Alameda County. #Experience working with young children and families.
License Required: #Valid Driver#s License and safe vehicle for performing job duties. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Willingness to work with families with complex needs whose children are exhibiting mental health/behavioral issues.
Ability to handle multiple priorities. Good skills at working within a team. Good organization skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills. Shows ability and interest in addressing the impact of culture/ethnicity and language on the provision of accountable and sensitive services to diverse populations. Strictly adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
Own transportation and proof of insurance. Ability to work occasionally on evenings or weekends. Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work effectively with large bureaucracies. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with MS Office Suite, web search, and experience with electronic health records systems.
