This part-time position provides operational support to the Displaced Homemakers Program, a state funded grant program which provides comprehensive services to individuals who have lost their primary source of income due to death, disability, separation or divorce. This position screens prospective clients, provides assessments, assists in the creation and implementation of a Plan of Action; conducts case management; related to; educational success, career assessment and planning, and job searches. This position works with external community organizations and government agencies to ensure program participants receive additional assistance and support with their individual needs.

Classification: Non-Affiliated Administrator

Staff Duration: Part Time 12 months

1.Conducts comprehensive assessments of clients' needs, strengths, and barriers to success.

2.Develops individualized Action Plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals and milestones.

3.Conducts follow up with clients on their Action Plan and referrals/linkages to internal and external sources.

4.Assists Program participants with the development and implementation of career, employment, and/or educational plans; provides on-going support, assistance and monitoring to ensure the completion of those plans.

5.Serves as the contact for clients during their educational or job skills training program. Helps clients resolve any issues they arise.

6.Provides support and encouragement to clients as they navigate their transition to economic self-sufficiency. 

7.Connects clients with relevant resources, including job training programs, educational opportunities, financial assistance, and community support services.

8.Advocates on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the assistance and accommodations they need.

9.Maintains accurate and confidential case records in accordance with organizational policies and procedures; updates database and assists in the preparation of required reports.



  1. Collaborates with Program staff and external partners to coordinate services and maximize support for clients, and meet the goals of the Program. 

  2. Provides overall operational support to the Displaced Homemakers Program.

  3. Prepares, presents or schedules external speakers for seminars and workshops on relevant topics.

  4. Serves as a Program Representative at internal and external events.

  5. Participates in professional development activities offered by the funder and other entities. 

  6. Related projects and duties as assigned.


1.Bachelor's Degree, ideally in psychology, social work or closely related discipline.

2.Two years of prior client service experience, ideally in a community, government, social service, or similar environment and involved at least one year of direct service delivery to clients and case management duties.

3.Strong understanding of issues related to domestic violence, economic insecurity, and other barriers to independence.

4.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.

5.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

6.Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and support services available to displaced homemakers.

7.Demonstrated commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.

8.Prior experience preparing and delivering written and verbal communication that included the development and delivery of presentations and materials to individuals and groups.

9.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a database platform and the ability to create standard and new reports, professional documents and correspondences.

1.Prior experience with educational and career planning, job search techniques, resume writing, and interviewing strategies.

2.Experience working with adults who are re-entering the workforce and/or educational programs.

3.Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver seminars and presentations.
