The Victim Services Division of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a Case Manager to provide case management, crisis intervention, court advocacy and referrals to community agencies on a variety of victim types including assault, robbery, burglary, with a large emphasis on domestic violence cases. Also accompanies victims to court for bond hearings and trials. Works to identify the needs of victims and make appropriate referrals.

The typical starting salary range is between $37,648-45,718 annually depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience as well as budgetary considerations. Examples of Duties

Essential Function Examples

Provide intervention, prevention, counseling and case management services to at-risk adults and/or youth and their families to assist them in becoming self-sufficient individuals.

Conduct need assessments for an assigned area of County population, perform research and data collection and serve on boards and task forces to implement social services programs.

Assist in identifying needs of high-risk youth, individuals and families and develop strategies to implement programs and services to meet those needs by conducting needs assessments, making referrals to community services, monitoring progress towards goals, evaluating applicants for program participation, performing research and data collections and serving on boards and task forces to implement services or make appropriate referrals.

Develop and coordinate the operation of various community programs through involvement with coalitions, committees, seminars and training.

Marginal Function Examples

Prepare grant proposals and monitor grant activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Applicants having previous experience working with child sexual assault and abuse victims may be given preference.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.

The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade.

A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.

The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.

All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
