Position Summary
The essential function of this clinical position is to engage the Assisted Outpatient Treatment Services (AOTS) consumer toward acceptance of mental health challenges and acceptance of clinical services in a trauma-informed, wellness and recovery, person-centered approach and to assist in stabilization in the community. This position exists to provide support to consumers as they navigate their involuntary commitment process.
Essential Functions
Conduct individual case management sessions, family meetings and facilitate psychoeducational groups, monitor recovery progress for the court.
Maintain awareness of the practical and clinical status of each client so that individual needs are addressed. Using sound clinical judgement in crisis. Making referrals when appropriate.
Engage clients through outreach strategies utilizing skills that build rapport, boundaries, and ensure safety.
Submit paperwork in a timely fashion that is concise and accurate.
Maintain good working relationships with Richard Hall staff, professionals outside the program and with family/support system.
Engage in trainings and activities, including but not limited to in-house training and statewide initiative, for professional growth and quality service provision to consumers.
Advocate for the client as needed for the necessary services or benefits.
Transport clients to appointments within the community as related to the service plan.
Provides rotating 24 hour on call weekends.
Participate in staffing/clinical meetings with other service providers.
May be asked to maintain data for Performance Improvement and DMHAS reporting.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor of Arts in Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college.
Minimum of three years of experience in working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in an acute care setting, such as Partial Hospitalization, Acute Care Hospital Unit, Screening Center.
Computer Literacy.
License in good standing, if applicable.
Valid driver's license in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college.
Familiarity with symptoms and evidence-based treatments of major psychiatric diagnosis.
Familiarity with the psychiatric medication prescribed to the program's target population.
Knowledge of community resources and services and the ability to collaborate with other professionals.
Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) and experience/sensitivity in working with culturally diverse populations.
