Company Overview Elk Valley Health Services is currently recruiting a Case Coordinator/Authorization Specialist for our Community Based Services team in our Nashville office. This position will be responsible for receiving referrals from Central Intake and obtaining authorizations from insurance companies, in coordination with Team Leader.

Our ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator who is detail-oriented and can multi-task with ease in a busy work environment. Obtaining healthcare authorizations experience is a plus, but having a good work ethic and dependability is also important for this role. $500 Sign On Bonus! This position is full time, Monday

  • Friday, 8:00am

    Essential Functions Primary Responsibilities include: Advises the Branch Manager of staffing needs and performance issues related to the availability of agency staff as needed. Assists in coordination of scheduling and tracking the 14 and 60-day supervisory visits that are required to be completed per regulatory requirements.

    Attends and participates in annual in-service training programs. Attends and participates in workshops, continuing educational programs, seminars, etc. to keep abreast of current departmental changes. Participates in on-call rotation for weekend, evening and holiday scheduling as required.

    Receives requests for service and maintains a weekly calendar of services scheduled and delivered. Review weekly edit lists for accuracy to assure timely processing of payroll and billing. Trains/orients new schedulers to the scheduling positions throughout Company.

    Uses an automated schedule system to prepare and maintain a weekly calendar of services scheduled and delivered. All other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Skill Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational, customer service, communication, and decision making skills required.

Gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources. Uses software for functional area to schedule appointments and document in the case management systems. Compiles and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations. Provides data and information to others on functional unit processes and procedures. Delivers exceptional customer service at all customer touch points. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Answer phones from automated call distribution system * Triage daily download of referrals and ensure appropriate worksheets are assigned to corresponding conditions as identified by Veteran's Administration * Verify appropriate CPT and CLIN codes are assigned to each case * Communicate directly with claimants and providers * Obtain medical history for specific conditions * Determine appropriate examinations, tests and specialists required for each case * Schedule appointments for examinees including follow-up appointments and rescheduled appointments * Ensure all examinees and providers receive necessary documentation * Confirm consultative reports and diagnostic test results are received in a timely manner * Meet or exceed contract timeliness guidelines in both the scheduling and case management systems * Other projects and duties as assigned Competencies: * Proven ability to plan and organize work load * Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced work environment * Good follow through skills * Must possess the ability and flexibility to work early morning, evening, and/or weekend shifts Education and/or Experience: * Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation This job description supersedes all prior job descriptions and is intended to describe the general content and essential requirements for the position listed above.
