Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Case Assignment and Placement Unit Support. Under direction, this position will work independently to determine appropriate DCFS codes and system screens for inputting information regarding placement payment, case registration, case opening, case assignment, case closing, case transfer, and medical eligibility.

The position will perform the entry of complex coding on the Department's computer systems. The position will also respond to inquiries from caregivers, private agencies, and all levels of DCFS staff. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's operations.

Job Responsibilities

1). Serves as Case Assignment/Placement Unit Associate

2). Keyboards and prepares a variety of complex materials, including, but not limited to detailed data entry, highly technical reports, Department forms, and correspondence.



  1. . Plans, coordinates and monitors the filling of all open and closed unit records.

4). Receives, reviews, separates and logs CYCIS case files.

5). Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1). Requires knowledge, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.

2). Requires 2 years of office experience.

3). Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.

Conditions of Employment

1). Requires ability to pass a background check.
