Supervised Visitation Case Aide I

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Case Aide manages all aspects of child-parent-family visits, documenting interactions both positive and negative and without bias, coordinated with the Case Manager from Arizona Department of Child Safety (ADCS). In support of the ComTrans mission and goals, this position utilizes business knowledge, professional documentation, independent and creative thinking. ComTrans is a safety sensitive company.

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Regular: Full-time; $13.00 hourly / non-exempt position.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Graduate, some college, degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience in Human Service field preferred.

Age: All ComTrans employees must be at least 18 years old, all driving positions are required to be at least 21 years old as required by insurance. Exceptions may be made for non-driving positions on a case-by-case basis and dependent upon the position and its responsibilities.

All employees working in ComTrans ADCS Division must pass ADCS Central Registry Check

Licensing/Registration/Certification:

Valid AZ driver's license

Current Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Pass initial MVR-60 month (5 year) history check

Pass MVR 36 month (3 year) history check twice each year

Approved by our insurance company as a driver.

Company Provided Training/Certifications

First Aid/CPR

Crisis Prevention and Intervention.

Complete ComTrans Driver Certification Training Program.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

The Case Aide:

Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and able to utilize information systems.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions typical of an administrative position as well as a ComTrans driver.

Ability to stand, climb stairs/steps, escort clients to and from destination, kneel, crouch, reach and extend arms.

Able to grasp objects such as steering wheel, car seats, etc

Sit in a driving or sitting position from 1 to up to 12 hours.

Able to get in and out of vehicles multiple times per day

Assisting students/clients in and out of the vehicles multiple times each day.

Able to bend, kneel and secure wheelchairs and clients multiple times per day.

Ability to lift or move at least 40 pounds

Ability to carry, lift and install child seats into vehicles and secure children into child seats.

When required, able to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam initially and upon expiration.

Able to perform vehicle pre and post trip inspections daily and on any vehicle

Able to work in a variety of environments; inside and outside, able to tolerate a variety of climate changes and conditions,

Administrative requirements

Ability to perform sedentary work involving sitting most of the time and for long periods of time.

Able to perform fingering activities such as typing.

Perform repetitive activities such as typing, using a telephone

Must have adequate visual acuity as required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Case Aide reports to the Case Aide Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, the following:

Document visits without bias or personal beliefs using professional documentation practices in accepted format and medium.

Ensure the safety of children at all times.

Always allow natural parent-child interactions.

Provide maximum opportunity for parent-child contact and for parents to demonstrate responsibility for the child.

Educate all parties involved of the visitation plans as well as visitation guidelines, limitations and responsibilities of all parties.

Resolve conflict and de-escalate situations effectively.

Document a child's behavior on route to the visit, the parent's reaction to the child, parent's behavior during the visit, child's reaction to seeing birth parents, child/parent separation behavior.

Communicate with the ADCS Case Manager often and as necessary.

Ensure all visit notes are detailed, accurate, and submitted timely

Communicate all issues to your direct Supervisor immediately.

Conduct vehicle check prior to start of day.

Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities The PRN On-Call Crisis Specialist - Northern Arizona will be part of the mobile crisis team, this position responds on-site to individuals in crisis whose issues cannot be resolved by the crisis call center telephonically. Utilizing best practices in crisis intervention, the PRN On-Call Crisis Specialist responds to and supports individuals and families in crisis. Your duties would include but are not limited to: * Performing mobile crisis interventions primarily in hospital settings, with the potential to also respond in a variety of other settings including although not limited to individual residences, schools, and group homes. * When on-call, will arrive to the scene of a request for mobile crisis intervention within an average of 45 minutes and no more than 1 hour. * Work effectively and respectfully with clients, families, schools, first responders, the crisis call center, and all others involved * Develop short-term crisis management/safety plans with clients or families including having knowledge/understanding of the involuntary petition process. * Make appropriate referrals to other agencies and/ or long-term counseling when appropriate. * Support psychiatric hospital placements by providing coordination, planning and facilitation with hospital staff. * Maintain client records and completes required documentation in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner * Show ability to effectively and professionally express self orally and in writing * Display flexibility and ability to adapt to change. Ability to drive throughout Northern Arizona region including in potentially adverse weather conditions Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * HS/GED plus at least 3 years' experience in behavioral health - or - an Associate's degree in behavior health- or * Bachelor's degree in behavior health, -or- any Bachelor's degree plus one year experience in behavioral health - or * Must have or obtain a valid Arizona Driver License, be (21 years of age) with a minimum 3 years driving experience.
