This position will assist the College of Arts and Sciences Vehicles Program.

This position will assist the College of Arts and Sciences Vehicles Program.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Scheduling vehicle maintenance appointments; transporting vehicles to and from appointments

• Refueling vehicles regularly

• Performing basic inspections of vehicles for issues such as: cosmetic issues (dents, scratches), trash or other items left in vehicle, headlights left on, etc.

• Tracking vehicle registration and basic maintenance schedules (assistant will not be responsible for processing registration renewal)

The Vehicle Student Assistant must be able to work independently and use problem-solving skills. They must have a valid driver's license and be able to become an authorized driver as outlined here: https://myusf.usfca.edu/risk/driver. The Assistant must maintain good standing as an authorized driver; driver standing may be impacted by speeding, moving violations, accidents, or other issues.

Weekly hours: 10-15 hours/week, at least 3 days/week

Proposed workflow:

• 1-2x per week: refuel all vehicles (should have more than half a tank at all times)

• 1x per week: basic visual inspection of vehicles for any new damage, left behind items, etc.

• 1x per week: turn on vehicle to make sure battery is charged/operational

• 2x per semester and as needed based on usage: wash cars (outside only)

• 1x per semester: clean/vacuum inside of vehicles (either by student or at car wash)

• 1-2x per year: have vehicles inspected/serviced by mechanic

• Pay rate $18.07
