Carrier Sales Representative Decatur, IL or Erlanger, KY

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

A Carrier Sales Representative is a vital connection in securing reliable and safe truck transportation in addition to communicating schedules with third party and internal customers. Carrier Sales Reps work closely with internal team members, but must be able to produce independent results. A Carrier Sales Rep will spend the majority of time in negotiations to secure capacity and manage freight in transit by obtaining updates from carriers and dispatchers to ensure proper movement and on time delivery. This position can be located in our Decatur, IL office or Erlanger, KY office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Buy and sell truck freight on the spot market

  • Market available truck capacity to new and existing customer base

  • Work with Sales Manager to identify customer leads based on freight posting systems

  • Develop ADM Logistics presence on all available freight posting systems

  • Work with ADM divisional and Transportation teams to identify potential customers

  • Create and manage relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders to secure and expand capacity opportunities

  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning including, pricing, seasonality, capacity fluctuations in the market, logistics solutions and processes

  • Utilize the TMS and drive automation in the system

  • Develop a regional network of asset based carriers to ensure coverage for assigned market, by researching new carriers and fostering relationships

  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of customer freight while building and maintaining relationships with multiple carriers and dispatchers

  • Qualify new carriers for proper authority, insurance, and safety requirements

  • Negotiate and provide competitive rates to internal sales

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (i.e. supply chain management, marketing, economics, finance, accounting) or equivalent combinations of education and experience preferred

  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment, while delivering exceptional individual results

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal & external customers

  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in Microsoft office

Library Associates are assigned to a specific location but are cross-trained and expected to work in any Kenton County Public Library public service department or location based on the library's staffing needs. Temporary assignments may occur in the case of staff shortages or leaves of absences. When possible, every effort will be made to give staff notice when being asked to work in or be temporarily assigned to a different location. Hours are varied, and evening and weekend work is required. Responsibilities: * Provide patrons of all ages with basic circulation, reference and readers advisory at all service points including the drive-thru window. * Process library card applications and inform new card holders of basic library benefits/services. * Respond to patron requests for information, assistance in using resources, locating materials, and equipment use. * Answer telephones and direct calls accordingly. * Serve public in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner. * Maintain and assist patrons with computers, printers, photocopier, hotspot, and other technologies. * Provide service and instruction to patrons using equipment in the Library's STREAM Center/Makerspace. * Check audio/visual materials for condition and pieces; rough sorts incoming items. * Process requests for patron holds; reserves and renewals. * Assist in collection development and maintenance. * Assist with preparation and execution of various programs for entertainment, educational and cultural purposes. * Basic understanding of and ability to use AV systems in meeting spaces. * Create and maintain bulletin boards, publicity displays and special book displays. * Assist with opening and/or closing duties. * Assist in maintaining the orderly appearance of the library, which includes dusting shelves, shelf reading, and shelving. * Assist other branch staff in any department or location when needed. * May assist with staffing community events on the library's behalf. * Other duties as assigned.
