We have a network of intermodal locations, a large fleet consisting of 1,500 power units and 5,000 trailers, a full service logistics division, and warehouses that fulfill distribution needs.

Job Summary:

The Carrier Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the Brokerage Sales & Operations teams, as well as our brokered carriers. You will communicate directly with carriers and internal staff to process payment(s) to our brokered fleet.

Job Duties:

Communication with both brokered carriers and internal brokerage team

Audit carrier invoices for accuracy and process for payment

Accurately update carrier remittance information as necessary

Provide timely and accurate customer service to both phone and email inquiries regarding carrier pay

Collect missing documents necessary for payment to carriers

Identify and communicate any/all invoicing discrepancies to the appropriate party, be it the carrier or internal brokerage team

Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing, scanning and filing

Assist the internal billing team in collecting missing documents required to bill customers

Back up team members and participate in projects as needed

Job Requirements:

Ability to work successfully and professionally in a team-based environment

Transportation or Trucking experience is a plus

Proficient computer and phone skills required

Ability to identify discrepancies/errors and resolve

Dependability - consistently at work and on time (being punctual)

Extremely organized and detail oriented

Customer Service experience required

Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Written and verbal communication skills. * Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Assists with printing and sealing of paychecks Performs off-cycle payroll processing duties including but not limited to performing paycheck reviews with supervisor or other associates to determine source of issue and appropriate course of action for problem resolution, reviewing and processing payroll adjustments related to prior pay cycles, and entering manual check payments into PeopleSoft. * Calculates overpayments and processes recoupment from associates in accordance with regulatory rules and company policies and procedures. Analyzes paycheck errors, calculates pay due and processes correction. Processes termination pay, including involuntary termination, calculation of benefit payout, and withholding of deduction balances in accordance with regulatory rules and company policy. Sorts checks for distribution. * Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with regulatory rules and company policies governing the processing of payroll information. * Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the Payroll Department in community outreach efforts as appropriate. * Performs on-cycle payroll processing duties including but not limited to reviewing and processing of payroll transaction requests for additional pay and deductions received from assigned entities, running additional pay and deduction queries and reconciling to the processed entries, and assisting the Senior Payroll Specialist in validating pay cycle reports. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Responds to associate questions received via email, fax and/or the Payroll Customer Service Line. Provides frontline support to the Payroll Customer Service Line. * Serves as backup to the Payroll Assistant.
