Position Information Job Title Carpenter/Locksmith Department LEVL - Physical Plant Employment Status Full Time/Part Time Full Time Benefits Yes Months per Year 12 Job Description SUMMARY Performs journeyman level carpentry skills in the construction, maintenance, and repair of structures and built-in components in facilities under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor. LOCATION Levelland Campus ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned. Performs structural maintenance and repair to buildings. Installs and work on locks.

Build cabinets, shelves, walls, and general carpentry. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of operation and safe use of all power and hand tools/equipment to complete daily tasks. Some of the equipment will be screwdriver, hammer, pliers, scissors, tape measure, and electric drill. Proficiency in interpretation of freehand sketches, blueprints, as-built drawings, diagrams and technical publications related to the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license and insurability.
