What You Can Expect:

  • 0700-1530 Monday - Friday, occasional weekend and after hours

  • The Carpenter 2, under general supervision, performs skilled carpentry work in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities, and related work as required.

  • Works from drawings or verbal instructions and operates a variety of carpentry hand and power tools or equipment.

  • Remodels and repairs cabinets, counters, shelves, tables and miscellaneous furniture.

  • Alters and repairs a variety of building structures such as walls, partitions, doorways, window frames, stairways and roofs.

  • Estimates time and material costs on carpentry projects and requisitions new carpentry materials and equipment.

  • Complies with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and requirements.

  • May coordinate the day-to-day operations of a group of employees, laborers, contractors, material suppliers, and/or vendors.

  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group.

  • Handles moderately complex issues using knowledge of procedures and policies. Refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: 2 years' related experience

  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License
