General Description:

This position is responsible for assisting in the functions required for construction, maintenance and repair of architectural structures.

This position will be responsible for driving Peak's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. Essential Duties & Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • Ensure a safe work environment.

  • Participate in Peak's STEPBACK safety program and stay compliant with online training modules in Virtual Training Assistant (VTA). Review and comply with the various Client's safety programs.

  • Your responsibility includes representing the Company in a professional manner at all times.

  • Assist Journeyman in constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard while conforming to local building codes.

  • Assist Journeyman in constructs, erects, maintains and dismantles scaffolding per OSHA specifications.

  • Assists Journeyman in constructs, erects and dismantles concrete forms, shoring and supports.

  • Performs above listed functions with proper use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as electric drills, saws, router, nail gun, scaffolding and builder's level, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position has no supervisory duties.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of framing methods, building components, the use of various patented form systems, shoring and layout work.

  • Knowledge of the various woods, fasteners, hardware and other materials commonly found in an industrial construction site.

  • Proficiency in the basic skills such as measuring, cutting, drilling and nailing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and tools and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

  • TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledgeable on the types of loads on scaffold platforms, and is able to calculate loads on scaffold platforms. * Ability to calculate wind loads on specified scaffold configurations. * Knowledgeable of the safety considerations and components of suspension scaffolding. * Understands the applications and safe operation of scissors lifts and boom lifts. • Knowledgeable on Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations that regulate the scaffolding industry. * Must be well versed in safe work practices while working with scaffolding in operating production units.
