Carpenter / Cabinet Maker & Finisher (Bell Gardens, Ca.)

Overview Parkwest Bicycle Casino is looking for a Carpenter/ Cabinet Maker and Finisher position. As a Carpenter you construct, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and confirming to local building codes by performing the duties outlined below.

Responsibilities Selects specified type of lumber or other materials and checks work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications. Prepares layout of the project and may be asked for input in projects design. Utilizes materials to prescribed measurements, drills, using saws, chisel, planes and sanders to repair and erect structures.

Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue. Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring. responsible of building gaming tables to the precise measurements and specifications. Repairs, builds and installs furniture.

Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work. Works with prefabricated buildings such as window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates. Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level and ensures compliance with all City & State building codes and CA OSHA guidelines.

Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Will be asked to assist in general maintenance working along with the Engineering team and is responsible for project cleaning as instructed by supervisor. Ensures that assigned work area is maintained in a safe condition.

Additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or higher degree. A minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Completion of technical training courses in basic carpentry or related trade preferred. Open availability to any given shift, weekends and holidays. Must be open to work overtime when necessary.

MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD. Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment employee permit, badge or license. Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
