Carpenter

Amentum is seeking a skilled Carpenter to perform work related to renovations supporting our Government Client in McLean, VA! As a Carpenter, you will perform carpentry construction work to include, but not limited to framing, hanging drywall, installing/repairing carpet tiles, installing/repairing acoustical ceilings, installing doors and door hardware related to construction and building & grounds maintenance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the planning and the lay out of work.

• Perform carpentry buildings and grounds maintenance work.

• Perform carpentry construction work.

• Responsible for the planning, layout, and execution of jobs.

• Performs minor masonry and concrete work.

• Perform related work as required.

• Provides oversight to outside contractors.

• Directs Carpenter II and M/M Helpers, and repair personnel as assigned.

• Read blueprints and generate bill of materials.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.

• Four years' experience in trade or building maintenance.

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, vocational or internal develop mental program for a journeyman carpenter.

• Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.

• Possess thorough knowledge of the carpentry trade.

• Must be able to operate power tools and machinery as required.

• A willingness to work shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to write correspondence.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility.
