This part-time temporary position is located in Morganton
Hourly Rate of Pay: $7.25 - $13.36 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
Average 29 hours per work week
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health & Human Services
Broughton Hospital/Facility Engineering. Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a temporary part-time Carpenter I position. The Carpenter I maintains, improves, and updates residential, educational, administrative, and other buildings on the Broughton Hospital campus. This position is assigned to the Facility Engineering carpentry crew and reports directly to the Carpenter Supervisor I.
Performing and sustaining a wide variety of building-related repairs and enhancements that include, but are not limited to, concrete removal, forming, and replacement
Repairing and replacement of brick/block masonry
Building of metal stud walls
Repairing of slate, shingle, EPDM, and TPO roofing
Building of cabinets and bookshelves
Hanging of doors and door hardware
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Carpentry experience in a commercial, industrial, residential or hospital setting
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma or a sufficient year-for-year combination of education and experience in the construction or remodeling of wooden structures or in furniture repair or construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
