$.25 raise every 60 days until top rate reached.
Guaranteed top rate by 2 years, if all training requirements met.
4x10hr rotating daytime shift
Overtime available once Welding Certs are achieved
Job Summary & Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of repair, rebuild, modification and assembly of various types of railroad freight cars and their parts. All work performed must meet current AAR and quality assurance guidelines and requirements. Passing 2G, 3G, & 4G FCAW and SMAW plates will add $1.50 to starting wage.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Perform a variety of repair, rebuilding, fabrication and modification operations under direction from supervisor on various types of cars
Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs
Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
Ensure AAR quality assurance standards are met
Follow all safety rules and procedures
Interact with crew members and supervisors in a team environment
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
Comply with the established safety policies and support continuing awareness for safety
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, and forklifts safely and proficiently
Knowledge of machines and tools required to weld, cut, and gouge
Eye-Hand coordination
Attention to details
Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent is desired
Good oral and written communication skills
Welding experience is a plus
Licenses, Certifications, etc:
