Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Performs light housecleaning, light vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, bed making, etc. as directed in Care Plan or special instructions from client, subject to the 20% rule.
Performs supportive services, such as basic meal preparation for the client with meal planning for regular diets, laundry, and grocery shopping, within guidelines of written Care Plan for the client.
Performs escort service transporting client to appointments, etc and infrequent errands.
Maintains a safe environment for the client.
Provides respite and companion care to client.
Recognizes, observes and reports changes in client's expectations of services and client's condition promptly to supervisor.
Cues client to activities that will increase/sustain client independence.
Follows AccentCare confidentiality policy with no exceptions.
Records activities, daily time and other forms promptly and accurately according to policy.
Takes care to prevent breakage in the client's home.
Provides comfortable environment for client by respecting the client's right to privacy.
Maintains AccentCare and client property in a manner that demonstrates ownership and accountability.
Maintains personal health status requirements in relation to position.
Adheres to AccentCare infection control and safety policies.
Consistently provides services, such as assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, hair care, skin care, oral hygiene, and assistance with toileting and elimination, which is conducive to maintenance of health and safety of client.
Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients and transferring clients.
Understands basic elements of body functioning and reports changes in client body functions as indicated.
Recognizes emergency situations and implements appropriate emergency procedures when indicated.
Observes and reports intake of foods and fluids and frequency of elimination, if required.
Utilizes good basic infection control procedures and follows AccentCare procedures in all instances.

Field work: The physical demands described in the Care Partner position description are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light dexterity, e.g., long periods of standing/sitting, etc.
Position requires the ability to drive long distance to and from client homes, including between client homes, and a valid Driver's License, with current Insurance and also an updated motor vehicle report.
Please know that we work one on one with our clients and every client has their own schedule. As a Care Partner (Caregiver) this means that clients rely on you for their everyday needs anywhere from companion care up to full ADL's (Activities of Daily Living). AccentCare Care Partners must be punctual and have a backup plan or many backup plans to ensure they can make it to their shift. Some clients do not have family members to help them and need our services (AccentCare/your assistance.) Our Clients are somebody's Mother, Father, Grandparent, Aunt, Uncle Etc. and should be treated with love and respect at all times.
