Summary of the role

The Delivery PMO Project Manager is responsible for developing and executing activities related to end-to-end program/project management, including identifying project requirements/deliverables, creating project plans, and managing scope. They proactively monitor, manage and report on execution of deliverables through all program/project phases while interacting with the internal teams, setting reasonable expectations and managing project change. They additionally are responsible for appropriate executive level reporting, relevant business case creation, clear business process creation and documentation, and creating effective presentations.

Main responsibilities

Manage complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business

Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

Manage all aspects of projects to ensure they are aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives

Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership

Manage project scope and changes

Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs

Understand and create presentations showing how Navitaire solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices

Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience

  • Mininum of 10 years experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance

  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership

  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective

  • Candidate to provide documentation samples that they created that demostrate experience with business process creation, executive reporting and effective presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Airline or travel industry experience

  • Strong Technical skills or understanding

  • Demonstrated comfort in working with and leading both technical and non-technical personnel

  • PMP Certification preferred

  • Foreign language speaking abilities a plus

  • Proven ability to work proactively and drive issues and deliverables to resolution

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

This position supports the goals of the organization by ensuring effective facilities project delivery by utilizing proven project management principles. This position will be responsible for ensuring projects are designed and implemented with a focus on the wellbeing of the organizations' patients, staff, faculty and visitors all while meeting the schedule, quality and budgetary expectations of senior leadership. The incumbent will coordinate efforts with Facilities & Engineering leadership, vendors, consultants, contractors, and clinical and executive leadership to meet the high project performance standards of University of Utah Health. This position is responsible for management operations and strategic planning of human resources, process control, financial management, and employee training and development for their assigned specialty area. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients at this time. This position reports directly to the Director of Planning, Design and Construction Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our four hospitals and seventeen clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes. Responsibilities Accountability * Works with all leaders within the Service Delivery Area to develop, implement, and assess and monitor plans and tactics that will improve patient experience outcomes while also meeting other organizational objectives. * Affirmatively resolves customer service escalations while collaborating with the system customer service department, and other leaders within the Service Delivery Area. * Engages in, supports, and develops operational initiatives with Service Delivery Area leadership. * Responsible for creating project plans and giving status reports on assigned projects. * Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations requiring coordination with other departments * Tracks project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators * Prepares and delivers reports to F&E Leadership. * Responsible for material management and delivery scheduling in support of assigned projects. Collaboration * Acts as a liaison between the organization and the assigned Service Delivery Area to communicate and emulate strategic initiatives, best practices, and other organizational plans. * Contributes as a key member of the Service Delivery Area leadership team and other committees addressing various operational outcomes and initiatives. * Supports the service delivery area through creative thinking for streamlining the processes, data analysis, and work activities in the Service Delivery Area. * Understands complex processes and roles within an integrative care organization, with the ability to work collaboratively with different departments both within the Service Delivery Area and in the overall organization. * Supports and helps enable the successful completion of initiatives and efforts that exist both within the Service Delivery Area and that span multiple Service Delivery Areas. * Selects, negotiates with, and coordinates the work of vendors, contractors, or sub-contractors.
