What You Will be Doing to Make a Difference....

  • Manage a small caseload of clients who are in search of employment

  • Match job responsibilities with clients' skills and experience

  • Research internet, newspapers and other resources for job leads for clients

  • Develop a working relationship with local employers who are willing to hire our clients

  • Teach key vocational/interviewing skills such as resume building, interview preparation, communication etc.

  • Attend job fairs and conferences where suitable contacts can be made

  • Track each clients individual career tracks and progress

  • Provide on-site support for our clients' as they learn navigate the job search process and learn the responsibilities of each role they express

  • Learn and demonstrate respect for the roles of other agencies (Sheriff's Department, Parole, Probation, etc.) at your site; our job is to be a resource to these other agencies

  • Respect boundaries between treatment and security

Requirements

Qualifications/Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Rehabilitative Counseling, Counseling or Human Services required

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching or counseling experience required

  • Expected to be familiar with local resources and model pro-social behavior

  • Valid MA driver's license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance

  • Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
