We are currently seeking an Career Services Specialist to join our team at our Gardena Campus. In this position you will be responsible for administering IEC's job placement program by ensuring a successful student placement experience for the campus' students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complies with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accreditor standards, and institutional policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to student job placement.

  • Identifies developing and securing relationships with employers to hire students/graduates of IEC programs through externship to hire and direct hire job order opportunities.

  • Prepares students for job placement readiness for externship and future employment through relationship building, resume development and interview preparation.

  • Delivers and coordinates career development workshops and other student professional development functions and events.

  • Provides group and individual career-related coaching sessions for students and graduates.

  • Meets or exceeds job placement objectives as established by accrediting agencies, the state and IEC.

  • Keeps detailed and accurate records relating to externship and job search process for each student/graduate in IEC's database.

  • Provides feedback and advice to the Associate Director/Director of Career Services regarding the state of the job market for the assigned program/program portfolio.

  • Proposes best practices and initiatives to improve specific functional areas such as business/job development, student activation, student mentorship and coaching, student professional development, and Extern to Hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Some college or trade school preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently and exercise discretion and good judgment.

Provide risk control consultation services to contractor and wrap-up project clients for the purposes of reducing and controlling losses. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides account operational descriptions, safety management system assessment, exposure assessments and overall risk evaluation to Underwriting through formal written reports and ongoing verbal communications. Keeps Underwriting informed of account services, recommendation status and account performance throughout the policy year; * Provides risk control consultation services to contractor and wrap-up clients that focus on both regulatory requirements and best practice safety/risk management practices. Services include field project safety surveys, training program development, training delivery, program development and loss analysis; * Identifies areas of improvement for safety and risk management systems and provides formal recommendations to clients as necessary. Provides follow up and assistance to implement recommendations developed; * Maintains effective partnerships with clients. Learns about client's business in order to identify risk management objectives and needs. Ensures accurate and concise communication and mutual understanding with internal and external clients. Keeps clients informed of status of services, support material available and outside resources; * Collaborates with management and other employees in developing policies, procedures, service tools, technical resources, techniques and new products in order to support and enhance the delivery of risk control consulting services; * Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information); * Moderate travel required; * Other duties as assigned.
