Summary

Primarily responsible for managing the Company's risk management financing and insurance function. This role collaborates across the Freeman organization to minimize the impact of operational and financial risk to the enterprise. This team member will report to the Chief Risk Officer and will collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management and Safety Field Operations teams as well as with Senior Management.

This position will support our Finance department. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages annual insurance renewal process domestically and internationally for all lines of insurance.

• Responsible for risk management related activities including:

• Contract reviews with Freeman legal team, our brokers, and carriers

• Sales RFP reviews and recommendations

• Policy questions

• Underwriting requests

• Develops and administers RFP processes for insurance related programs as required.

• Coordinates and tracks international operations and any insurance placements whether made in the US, at another company hub or locally for countries where required to place local policies as admitted policies.

• Acquisitions: Oversees risk related due diligence/data gathering for Freeman and disseminates as needed to Freeman's risk related service providers.

• Primary Responsibility for managing the operations of the company's captive insurance program.

• Maintains master hard copy records for Freeman's Texas captive, Kelso Re as required by the state.

• Compiles and distributes Freeman data for quarterly actuarial reporting.

• Compiles data for insurance/risk management annual policy renewals, allocation costs, and reports.

• Oversees the renewal of key executive Umbrella placements.

• Places and tracks flood policies.

• Oversees the renewal of key executive Umbrella placements.

• Works with broker to place all Surety bonds and oversees administration.

• Maintains Risk Management approved vendor information and manages all submissions to AP on risk related billings.

• Leads the data compilation and analysis to determine Freeman's TCOR (Total Cost of Risk) annually and complies slide decks as necessary to report out to senior leadership.

• Manages ongoing broker communications.

• Processes and tracks property claims; works with property carrier to bring claims to a conclusion.

• Coordinates with claims team on all other claims.

• Maintains risk finance database for Chief Risk Officer.

• Participates in ERM related projects and studies with the VP of Enterprise Risk Management.

• Coordinates premium audits as well as year-end audits for the captive insurance companies.

• Maintains Excel Schedules of Insurance by branch and country globally- including limits, deductibles, premium and administration of risk programs for internal record keeping as well as reporting to banking relationships.

• Determines premium payment terms by country and branch based upon international insurance requirements, laws, and internal operational needs.

• Updates brokers and insurance carriers on organizational changes as needed.

• Researches emerging risks and distributes literature as well as coordinates meetings for discussion and planning purposes.

• Distributes Risk Management related communications and white papers as they apply to IT, Travel, or other Freeman departments.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree required, prefer finance-related focus.

• Minimum of 15 years' experience in assisting with and overseeing large, complicated Risks

• Management programs. Direct brokerage or corporate risk manager experience preferred.

• Experience with Alternative Risk Transfer Financing

• Experience with Loss Control and Safety

• Experience with Claims administration and TPA's.

• Strong working knowledge of insurance and risk management providers including brokers, carriers, TPA's, captives, actuaries, and insurance accounting firms.

• Familiarity with large brokers on a local, national and international basis.

• Experience with all lines of insurance (property, casualty, executive lines, etc.,) program structures, deductibles, and policies.

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

• Ability to work cross functionally and partner across the organization.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Not required but ARM, CIC, and/or CPCU a plus.
