Helps to place A-B Tech students with justice-involvement in training opportunities. Serves as liaison between A-B Tech and local industries for career facilitation of justice-involved individuals.

Works with curriculum and continuing education to create career and educational pathways for A-B Tech students with justice-involvement, including work-based learning. Helps to develop, coordinate, maintain, and track educational and employment opportunities for clients. Completes reporting requirements as necessary for Mountain Area Workforce Development Board or other grant resources.

Serves as a member of the Buncombe County Re-entry Council & partner with Justice Resource Center. Responsible for marketing workforce development and mentoring through various methods.

Duties
1.Drawing on personal experience as a justice involved resident and a person in recovery to better support clients in workforce development and to provide emotional support to Up Skill WNC clients, including phone calls and visits with the client in the home or office setting.
2.Mentors and tracks an approximate caseload of A-B Tech students and clients during training and after job placement. 6 of these clients will be in pilot, work-release program, in partnership with the Sheriff's Office.
3.Conducts thorough needs analyses and career assessments/interest inventories to understand client needs.
4.Serves as point of contact and meets regularly with business and industry clients to place A-B Tech students into training opportunities and jobs.
5.Connects clients to local and state workforce programs and agencies. Provides Justice Resource Center with informational material on community college educational opportunities, schedules, contact, and facilitates groups.
6.Participates in community outreach plan and builds relationships with local college and community partners toward recruitment, including client advocacy and increased awareness.
7.Collaborates with Justice System to develop models of community college and Justice Resource Center partnerships to support student success and DPS vision.
8.Participates in state level meetings and conferences to share best practices and challenges to implementation.
9.Partners with A-B Tech programs and departments including Economic & Workforce Development/Continuing Education, Curriculum Programs, and Student Services.
10. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and Welcoming College statement.
11. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
1.High School Diploma;
2.Certified Peer Support Specialist (be willing to obtain);
3.Facilitating Career Development Certification (be willing to obtain);
4.Two years of part-time or equivalent experience working with justice-involved individuals;
5.Case management experience;
6.Marketing or recruiting experience with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications
1.Five years of part-time or equivalent experience working with justice-involved individuals;
2.Associate's degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field;
3.Experience with resources for justice-involved individuals;
4.Two years of part-time or equivalent experience in workforce development;
5.Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Course topics may include, but are not limited to: Private Pilot Instrument Rating Commercial Pilot History of Aviation Aviation Management Aerodynamics Laws and FARs Aircraft Engines and Systems Safety of Flight Human Factors in Aviation Meteorology Air Traffic Control Duties 1. Plan and deliver course information in timely manner using appropriate technology 2. Complete paperwork at beginning and end of each semester 3. Maintain grade and attendance information 4. Utilize Moodle software 5. Gather and maintain appropriate FAR part 141 paperwork and records Minimum Requirements 1. Associate degree in related field 2.
