Description:

Provide individual and group, career and technical training advisement services in order to generate qualified and motivated student applications for enrollment at Tulsa Tech.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and enhance positive working relationships with partner school personnel, local and state workforce/governmental agencies, and area business and industry representatives; seek input and feedback from partner school personnel in order improve program offerings and student communications.

• Analyze information about individuals through interviews, tests results, and records in order to evaluate students' interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality characteristics, for career planning and recruitment for technical training at Tulsa Tech.

• Identify school age students enrolled in work experience program and other possible feeder classes to target as possible candidates for Tulsa Tech recruitment.

• Identify distinctive adult groups in need of technical training brought on by company expansions, lay-offs, downturn or up-turn in the economy, natural disaster, etc.

• Communicate marketing information regarding technical education, career opportunities and college credit to adults, middle school and high school students and their parents; provide orientation of career offerings, assist prospective students in program selection, follow enrollment procedures with students, including enrollment follow-up.

• Provide formal presentations at partner schools; participate in job and college fairs as well as community and civic events to raise awareness of technical training opportunities at Tulsa Tech.

• Using assessment and guidance services assist students in selecting appropriate programs; coordinate for a seamless transition between partner schools and Tulsa Tech.

• Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department. Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.

Job Requirements:

• This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of either working with secondary students or career tech education experience.

• Secondary Administration or Counseling experience is preferred.

• Valid state issued driver's license

• Bilingual is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

Salary Schedule:

10 Month - Instructional Services Personnel

Hiring Range:

$46,540 to $52,664 annually dependent on experience and education, plus additional $9,000 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
