Independently performs all patient access and registration functions along with scheduling and clerical/receptionist duties in collaboration with the Medical Imaging team. Works in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties.

Essential Duties & Functions:

1.Greets and interviews outpatients in a respectful and timely manner.

2.Schedules appointments and completes registration by collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system. Verifies insurance benefit information, generates an ABN if necessary, reviews orders for compliancy, completes the MSP, and obtains financial treatment consents.

3.Places ordered medical procedures in EMR, and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements.

4.Maintains basic knowledge of imaging procedures. Independently performs all other assigned clerical tasks, and receptionist functions in collaboration with the Medical Imaging Team.

5.Answers questions regarding procedures, informs patients and families of exam status or delays. Promptly notifies technical areas of patient arrival.

6.Assists with the coordination of patient flow and activities of the Medical Imaging area to optimize patient time and satisfaction.

7.Strictly follows all safety practices and policies.

8.Maintains knowledge of the locations, and operations of all emergency equipment in the unit.

9.Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.

Education Required: High School completion / GED

Additional requirements:

Preferred educational qualifications: Associates degree in related healthcare or business.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPR Certification (AHA BLS) required within 30 days

Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: One year experience in a medical/patient care environment


Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage

Basic knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge of the various departments/areas served

Knowledge of radiation safety

VIEW JOBS 6/30/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-09-28T00:00 Upper Valley Medical Center Troy, Ohio support hours and schedule varies as needed Under the general supervision of the Department Manager in Rehabilitation Services and according to established policies and procedures, the Rehab Support Associate is responsible for: registering, scheduling, completion of registration by collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system, verifying insurance benefit information, generation of the ABN, reviewing orders for compliancy, completion of MSP, obtaining financial and treatment consents, and obtaining a pre-certification when applicable while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. They are responsible for the financial counseling, explanation of co-pays and deductibles, providing financial information to patients and their families and entering/monitoring patient/client charges. The Rehab Support Associate will assist with case management; participate in organization and completion of departmental projects/programs; participate in Performance Improvement; support Rehab Services' office operation needs as appropriate by covering at another site, orienting/mentoring replacement, and timely and effectively communicating assistance/coverage needs. 1. Basic math and language skills as acquired through high school graduation. Associate Degree in related healthcare or business field preferred. 2. Secretarial/office management education or equivalent work experience of at least one year preferred, preferably in a medical setting. 3. Medical terminology usage. 4. Accurate typing proficiency of greater than 30 words per minute (preferred). 5. Efficient use of computer and software. 6. Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with patient, families, physicians, and staff. 7. Organizational skills, prioritization skills, flexibility and tact to handle varied and numerous job demands, such as therapist/client interruptions, phone and computer work. 8.
