The Care Team Assistant works in collaboration with other care team members to assure safe and optimal patient care. Supports the unit with a variety of clerical, patient logistic, equipment/supply, charge reconciliation, and patient service duties. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and maintains a safe, organized environment.

In this role you will be assisting the department with coordinating exam times with the floors, transporting patients from the Emergency Room to Imaging, stocking supplies, and assisting with other various tasks supporting technologists to ensure the quality of patient

This is a benefited Part-Time position (48 hours every two weeks), working variable shifts so flexibility is a must. Most shifts will be PM shifts and requires weekend availability. Located at Scripps Mercy San Diego.


Required Certification/Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Multiple patient care skills preferred

  • Prefer one-year experience in health care related field, sterile processing, patient transport or equivalent responsibilities.

  • Transport background

  • EPIC experience

  • Bilingual preferred but not required

Join Our Team of Patient Care Assistants in our Surgical Acute department at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego located in the heart of Hillcrest. Founded in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy, Scripps Mercy Hospital is San Diego's longest established hospital, the only Catholic medical center, and the largest teaching hospital in the region. We invite you to join our Mercy Surgical Acute team as a Patient Care Assistant. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will provide excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. * Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. * Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. * Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties. This position is Full-Time (72 hours per pay period), 12-hour day shifts, with a rotating schedule that includes weekends. Located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: * CNA certification preferred. * Multiple patient care skills preferred. * One-year acute care experience preferred.
