SUMMARY: This position performs a wide range of administrative, office support activities, and coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Medication Assistance Program.

Office support to include but not limited to, facilitating communication to department team members from internal and external sources by coordinating telephone calls and messages. Front line assistance for patients, visitors, and medication assistance patients who enter the department. #Coordinates work flow of patients identified with medication needs with limited financial capacity.

Focus will be on obtaining medication in conjunction with pharmaceutical programs or other emergency community organizations.

Provide screening, assessment, education and counseling to assist patients in obtaining medications, or medication assistance to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations, compliance to medical care plan and continuity of care. Assists Care Management staff with identified administrative responsibilities, special projects with monitoring of follow-up care and measurable outcomes. Required Education/Training:

High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience: Three (3) years# clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting; demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) Preferred Education/Training: Strong familiarity with medical terminology; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with extremely high level of attention to detail Preferred Experience: Minimum six (6) months of program management experience or minimum one (1) year clerical experience in health care setting Preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration:#Certified Patient Access Specialist
