Position Summary
The Cardiovascular Technician IV assists with the performance of cardiac catheterization procedures, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge. Also assists the supervisor with the provision of leadership and staff development for the unit.
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (RT-R) is required.
An additional year in special imaging (invasive) is preferred for RT-R graduates.
ARRT certification is required OR Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology.
Three years of experience as a technician in a Cath Lab is required.
American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
Demonstration of an appropriate technical skill level in the Cath Lab.
Clinical Ladder
Cardiovascular Technologist I:
Minimum Position Requirements:
High School or GED or higher degree required.
Required training or education requirements: Allied Health (Radiology Technologist, Nuclear Technologist, CT Technologist or Respiratory Therapist) degree with valid NC license/registration OR RN with one year relevant experience and valid NC RN license OR Graduate of a two year AD Cardiovascular program with valid diploma OR High School graduate with current RCIS certification and two years related work experience in cardiac cath lab or electrophysiology lab.
Cardiovascular Technologist II:
Minimum Position Requirements:
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (RT-R).
An additional year in special imaging (invasive) is preferred for RT-R graduates.
ARRT certification is required OR Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology with RCIS (RCVT) certification.
One year experience as a technician in a radiology area (i.e. Cath Lab, EP Lab, Vascular, etc.)
American Heart Association BLS certification
Demonstration of an appropriate technical skill level in the Cath Lab.
Cardiovascular Technologist III:
Minimum Position Requirements:
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (RT-R).
An additional year in special imaging (invasive) is preferred for RT-R graduates.
ARRT certification is required OR Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology.
Two years of experience as a technician in a Radiology area (i.e. Cath Lab, EP Lab, Vascular, etc.).

Other Information
Primary Shift: Day
Four 10 hour days per week
One designated late shift per week
One night of call per week
One weekend of call per six week schedule; Weekend to include Friday night.
On Call: Yes
Weekends: Rotating
