This position is eligible for a $10K bonus, for all experienced external hires.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under the direction of a licensed physician. Work includes but is not limited to (1) reviewing and/or recording pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data; (2) preparing patients for testing (3) performing appropriate clinical procedures and obtaining a record of anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician; (4) participating in interventional cardiovascular catheterization and/or cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker and/or implantable defibrillator insertion (5) compiling a foundation of data that is interpreted by physicians in order to make a correct anatomic, physiologic, and pathologic diagnosis for each patient.

Incumbents are also accountable for; keeping abreast of FHS standards, protocols and procedures relating to the department; keeping skills current; demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from Cardiologist and related classes.

Education/Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, and one year of recent related work experience which may be obtained through practical education/training; OR

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology

License/Certification

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 (RCIS), with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and license to practice in the state of Washington, OR

  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).

  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.

  • ACLS certification required.

Job Summary: Performs ultrasound examinations in accordance with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements, and assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of ultrasound equipment. Work is performed with respect to various specialty/sub-specialty areas (i.e. cardiac, general and sub-specialties) in a variety of healthcare settings. Incumbents may perform echocardiograms only if at S EH. Incumbents are also accountable for; keeping abreast of FHS standards, protocols and procedures relating to the department; keeping skills current; demonstrating evidence of continuing education; attending department, local and national professional meetings; and availing themselves of individualized learning opportunities to stay current on new procedures, equipment or information. Essential Duties: Prepares/operates a variety of diagnostic ultrasound equipment in accordance with American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) standards and department protocols. Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing ultrasound exams/procedures and/or special procedures. Performs general office duties department operations to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies. Participates in the formal training of ultrasound interns. Education/Work Experience: Associates degree from an accredited training program in General diagnostic sonography, and recent completion of a twelve-month internship in diagnostic ultrasound (with at least six months in General ultrasound) or equivalent recent directly-related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. Licensure/Certification: Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or Certification in Sonography by the American Association of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)..
