FT 4 10 hour shifts with call rotation

Responsible for assisting in the performance of cardiac catheterization procedures utilizing diagnostic and interventional radiographic equipment. Utilizes sterile technique and maintains operational and anatomic knowledge of the cardiovascular system.

Provides direct patient care to patients 18 years of age, or older. Maintains appropriate and accurate data in the hemodynamic computer system. Will be required to assist the physician in the performance of all catheterization procedures in the role of monitor, scrub and circulate.

Registered X-ray Tech (ARRT) or RCIS credentials required. BCLS certification required.Graduation from an accredited School of Radiology Technology, a school of cardiovascular technology invasive tract, or equivalent training thereof.

One year Cardiac Catheterization or Special Procedures experience required. (Focused educational experience in cardiac or vascular concentration may be substituted for this requirement.) Functional anatomic and physiologic knowledge of the cardiovascular system. ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Accepts requests for surgical case carts, supplies, equipment and trays from other departments/nursing units, prioritizes appropriately and delivers in a timely manner. Retrieves soiled equipment, decontaminates and prepares for re-issue. Accurately prepares instrument trays and packs, sterilizes; protects items and self by handling equipment properly to prevent injury, damage and loss. Confirms that conditions for sterilization have been met and documentation completed. Performs daily inventory count and replenishes Med/Surg supplies to correct par level. Removes outdated stock and returns items to CDS for disposal in a timely manner. Orders, receives supplies and restocks shelves, ensuring rotation and correct location. Demonstrates responsibility for own competency, mandatory programs and annual performance evaluation by maintaining all personal data up to date. Participates in the orientation of new employees. Accurately inputs orders, patient charges, credits and issues into computer and runs reports. High School diploma or equivalent. Hospital purchasing, sterilization, distribution, inventory management, or other hospital experience preferred. Disinfection and sterilization equipment, fax, copier, telephone, computer and calculator preferred. Basic computer and calculator skills. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to form effective working relationships with co-workers, management and customers. Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions. Visual and hearing acuity, ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to routinely lift 25 pounds. Considerable walking, pushing, or pulling equipment and supply carts weighing up to 65 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and overhead use of arms.
