Responsibilities The Specialty Technician must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Unit; as delegated by and under the supervision of the licensed staff. The Specialty Tech will be responsible for activities of patient care which involves specialty training in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.

Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff. Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.

Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines and assists patients with range of motion. He/She is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act. Qualifications Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function). Basic Life Support Preferred Job Requirements Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care
